GoldSakr.com (Dahab Masr) is an Egyptian website that shows gold, US dollar and Saudi riyal prices in Egyptian pounds and provides gold, zakat and dowry calculators. The site is one of Eng. Mohamed Sakr's websites and is developed in El Mahalla El Kubra, Egypt.

How do we calculate prices?

• We fetch the global gold ounce price in USD from public data sources (such as gold-api.com and goldprice.org) and the USD/EGP rate from a public currency data source (such as open.er-api.com), which may update only once a day.
• 24K gram price = ounce price × USD rate ÷ 31.1035; the other karats are derived using each karat's purity (21/24, 18/24, 14/24).
• Gold pound = 8 grams × the 21K gram price.
• We apply a small calibration factor so prices stay close to the Egyptian jewelers' market, and pages refresh automatically every 60 seconds.
• A status label shows next to the price: "Live", "Last saved price" if the sources are unreachable, or "Backup source (daily update)".

Price accuracy

Prices are indicative, not official. They may differ slightly from shop prices (usually by less than 0.5%) and exclude making charges, stamp duty and taxes. See the Terms & Conditions.
